A new way of living in Venice

 This concept is basing on the sensitive topic in Venice—the boat. Boats play the key role to the rise and fall of the whole Venice. From the original boats like gondola to the warship which was dominated once in the world, and now change to the cruiseship. The new city plan is basing on the cruise ship. Now the cruise ship like a lung brings visitors from all over the world every day which makes fresh air to that ancient city. However, if the ship crash into the city, what can happen? I tested different ways when the cruise ship Queen Mary which goes along with Venice went into Venice, and then picked up the most sensitive part– Arsenale, which was the most famous boat factory.

Then cut the ship according to the texture of that part of city, followed by some transformation, the slice of Queen Mary match the city well.

And then, I tried to made some relevant between the ship and city. Some particular space like piazza (San Marco), campo, courtyard, streets and aulla can be transformed and then put into the sliced new city. In that way, it forms a new kind of city, which hit the point of the sprite of Venice, and then provides another way of living even floating that can be a solution of sea-rising to Venice.

For the next step, the sliced parts with some machining can provide different functions to this ancient city, like an open-air football playground, aquarium and some workshops for the traditional A new way of living in Venice
