IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO ENVISAGE THE RECONSTRUCTION OF THE OLD CITY, ONLY THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW ONE ON NEW FOUNDATIONS, ON ANOTHER SCALE AND IN ANOTHER CONDITIONS, IN ANOTHER SOCIETY. THE PRESCRIPTION IS: THERE CANNOT BE A GOING BACK, NOR A HEADLONG FLIGHT, TOWARDS A COLOSSAL AND SHAPELESS AGGLOMERATION. IN OTHER WORDS, THE PAST, THE PRESENT, THE POSSIBLE CANNOT BE SEPERATED. ‘Manhattan’ is the most impressive piece and the center zone of New-York City. This place had a great history. There is a layer between the history and the future. Every touch, every new building, structure or space drill into that layer, and changes its shape. This layer ‘f(x)’ is a function of space which is related and working with time.

After Manhattan planned as a gridal city (1) in -1881 comissioners’ plan-, the city started to swell up (2) and develop. With the changing rates and speed of this rising, city has got crowded and continue up its motion. By help of the technology and other sources; limits, comprehensions and connections of the time had changed. By the way the the space stuck into the layer (3) which covers it up. Because future is over that layer, the proposal is to cut that layer (4) to make connections in time. In this way, there would be seperate rabbit holes between the past and present which releases the space and makes it free. In this manner an explosion (5) will occur through to the future. Space will flow into the future. The future will flow into the past. After the explosion and the flow, a new topography of space will achive an (6) equilibrum. Thus, past and future will dissolve into each other and will create an in between zone of past and future.
