Concept

Inspired by the ancient symbol of Sicily, the triskelion, the proposed trefoil inflated structure consists of three flexible modules which can be configured with two modes: the ‘knot’ and the ‘tunnel’ to accommodate different program requirements.

The ‘knot’ creates a gallery strip surrounding a triangular courtyard for casual gathering. The ‘tunnel’ provides a formal pavilion for seminar or activities that require higher degree of enclosure.

Each module is composed of fourteen recycled white PVC closed inner tube which measures 200mm in diameter. These tubes will be welded together. Connection between modules and weighted anchors can be molded on plastic end cap at both ends of each tube.
